De Boer's structures have Christmas covered

De Boer Structures is enjoying a hectic festive period after being called on to supply temporary venues for a succession of glittering Christmas parties.

The Banbury-based company has signed deals with a number of the United Kingdom’s leading event organisers, enabling many thousands of revellers to enjoy stunning themed parties within De Boer’s structures.

The contracts come as De Boer celebrates an award-winning success. Fortesqueue’s Event Management, a regular De Boer client, received the ‘Venue of the Year’ accolade at the 2003 CEA Awards for a series of parties hosted in a De Boer structure at Lincoln Inn Fields, central London.

Fortesqueue’s, which is a specialist in organising bespoke events, is continuing its successful association with De Boer. The event management specialist uses state-of-the-art lighting techniques to transform the structures into a dream landscape for parties, awards ceremonies and conferences.

The so-called ‘Primary Colours’ party concept allows clients to hire the contemporary venue for the night but to select their own lighting colours — from rich blues and flaming reds through to a contemporary ‘white’ Christmas!

De Boer Account Manager Tom Osborne said: “Fortesqueue’s success at the CEA Awards demonstrates just what can be achieved by hosting corporate parties in temporary structures. More and more clients have discovered that temporary venues can provide so much more space and flexibility than can be found in permanent buildings.”

De Boer’s other Christmas assignments have included the provision of two Jumbo structures for “Heroes” themed parties at the Honourable Artillery Company in the City of London. The company also supplied a selection of Acropolis and Clearspan structures for themed parties hosted at the Royal Hospital, Chelsea.

A separate contract has seen De Boer providing a Jumbo structure plus chalet and walkway structures in Oxfordshire. The temporary venue, created near Oxford, has enabled a new client to host a series of themed Christmas parties in the run-up to Christmas.

Meanwhile for the third successive year De Boer has linked up with event management company Caroline Wheatley Associates to provide Christmas party venues for more than 23,000 people at three sites across Hampshire.

At Rushmoor Arena in Aldershot guests will party to a spectacular ‘Lord of the Rings’ theme. Revellers at Dummer Cricket Club near Basingstoke will enjoy an American-style Speakeasy theme while a venue at Portsmouth will be transformed into ‘Christmas in Las Vagas’.

De Boer is also supplying structures to Trunkwell Mansion House near Reading, Berkshire, to accommodate 400 guests at 15 nightly parties in the run-up to Christmas. And in the New Year additional structures will be erected on the site as British Gas stages its annual celebration for 1100 guests.

The latest Christmas contracts have also seen De Boer provide structures to accommodate temporary ice rinks in Dublin and at Gleneagles in Scotland. The Dublin rink was created inside a Jumbo structure, with a selection of chalets and other structures being erected for a range of uses including café, entrance and changing areas. The Gleneagles ice rink will be housed inside an Alu Hall structure.

Richard Treml, who is one of a number of De Boer account managers involved in the Christmas party season, said: “The boom in business has been so great that we now seem to be as busy in November as in many of the peak summer months.”
