An exclusive London party venue created within De Boer’s temporary structures has been voted ‘Venue of the Year’ in a prestigious event industry awards ceremony.
Using state-of-the-art lighting techniques, Fortesqueue’s Event Management have transformed structures in London’s famous Lincoln Inn Fields into a dream landscape for parties, awards ceremonies and conferences.
For 12 weeks during summer and Christmas, Fortesqueue’s host a range of major events for corporate clients in the heart of London.
Fortesqueue’s has a reputation for organising bespoke events. However, in an era of budget restraint, many companies can no longer justify the expense of throwing a lavish one-off party. Hence Fortesqueue’s ‘Primary Colours’ party concept that allows clients to hire the contemporary venue for the night but to select their own lighting colours — from rich blues and flaming reds through to a contemporary ‘white’ Christmas!
“Our incredible lighting special effects provide an exclusive colour backdrop which gives a bespoke feel to the evening,” says Fortesqueue’s Ben Harrop. “We have branded this project ‘The Room’ to emphasis the flexibility of empty space. Temporary structures give clients the benefit to stage a bespoke event specifically to meet their requirements.”
Banbury-based De Boer Structures supply a President Double Decker and a 30x40 metre Jumbo structure which form a reception area, bar and dining room for hundreds of guests.
The Room’s flexibility has been highlighted by an event for Pricewaterhouse-Coopers in which the venue was transformed in just 90 minutes from a conference area, complete with staging, for 200 people into a summer-themed dining room for 500 guests.
With top-class cuisine and entertainment to complement the décor, ‘The Room’ has been hired by many of Fortesqueue’s ‘blue chip’ clients including Ernst & Young and Barclays Global Investors.
The site even has a Victorian Band Stand in the centre that De Boer’s construction team managed to build around to include in the overall design.
De Boer Account Manager Tom Osborne said: “We are delighted that Fortesqueue’s Event Management have won this award. The Room concept they have developed is a marvellous example of the flexibility of temporary structures which allow event managers scope to create a variety of unique themes that they might be unable to do within a permanent building.”
Fortesqueue’s picked up their prize on Tuesday evening at the Corporate Event Association Awards 2003 held at the Royal Hospital site in Chelsea – venue of the world famous Chelsea Flower Show.
