Stage Technologies automate the launch of Kylie Minogues latest album
Described by the Mail as “visually one of Kylies best” the princess of pop Kylie Minogue used a one off concert at London’s Hammersmith Apollo to launch her latest album ‘Body Language’. With both album and concert proving a huge success it would appear the Australian artist can do no wrong at the moment. The first single from her album, ‘Slow’ has already hit the number one spot and ‘Red Blooded Woman’ the second track to be unleashed on the 1st March looks set to do the same.
After an unprecedented boost to her career with the album Fever, Kylie must have wondered if a paralleled follow up was possible, but she clearly means business and the album launch definitely didn’t disappoint. The one off show took the same amount of design time, preparation and production as a whole tour, incorporated Paris street scenes, huge steel constructions and a motorbike to boot. Stage Technologies in conjunction with The Rigging Partnership provided the scenic wow factor for the show with an automation system to compliment the starlet’s visual extravaganza. For her grand entrance they used four Big Tow winches to lower the pop princess onto the stage on a mechanical girder as characterised on the ‘Body Language’ album cover, with a further two tracking two monster led screens up and down stage.
With four thousand screaming fans and a number one from the album already under her belt it looks like the Australian survivor's inimitable presence is still working its magic.
