Camden secures key role at Farnborough International 2004
Camden Exhibition Services has been signed up as one of the key suppliers of equipment to Farnborough International 2004 alongside Concept Furniture International.

The business – a division of rapidly expanding Thorns Group – is to provide thousands of items of furniture and equipment to the show, which is the premier business event in the world’s aerospace calendar.

Tottenham-based Camden Exhibition Services’ stock is set to be used across the massive Farnborough site in Hampshire, including in the exhibition halls, hospitality chalets, organisers’ areas and media centre.

Individual items being supplied include ranges of wooden and plastic garden furniture, metal-framed chairs, boardroom furniture, trestle tables, lecterns, soft furnishings, black leather seating, coatstands and hatstands.

Camden will be working at Farnborough as joint official furniture supplier alongside Worcestershire-based Concept.

Camden’s equipment will begin arriving at the Farnborough airfield in mid-June, with further furniture arriving on site during the run-up to the event’s opening day on July 19. Farnborough International 2004 is held between July 19 and 25.

Camden Exhibition Services’ Divisional Director Ross Redican said: “Our appointment at Farnborough reinforces the tremendous reputation we have established at Camden Exhibition Services. We look forward to working with Concept on this tremendous assignment.”

He added: “Farnborough International is a huge event not only for the world’s aerospace industry and visiting public, but for the UK’s entire exhibitions industry. Camden Exhibition Services – and Thorns Group as a whole – has repeatedly shown that it is able to respond to such major challenges.”

His views were echoed by Raj Patel, Commercial Manager at Concept. She said: “The organisers of Farnborough International 2004 are looking to provide an excellent service to exhibitors at this year’s event. The joint furniture contract enables both Concept and Camden to play to their strengths – and to ensure that the organisers and exhibitors enjoy the very best service available.”

Farnborough International is one of the world’s most famous aerospace events, attracting hundreds of thousands of visitors from across the globe. The biennial event, last held in the summer of 2002, was attended by 400 exhibitors, generating business contracts worth tens of billions of dollars.

Farnborough International 2004 looks set to be even more successful than in previous years. The famous exhibition and flying display will boast a range of new features, including an International Space Pavilion and a pioneering Business Aircraft Park. There will also be a pavilion managed by the Motorsport Industries Association demonstrating the technological links between the aerospace and motorsport industries, while Rolls Royce will be marking its centenary with a range of special events.

Farnborough International is organised by the Society of British Aerospace Companies, the national trade association for the UK aerospace industry.

The assignment will be the latest in a long line of high-profile contracts for Camden Exhibition Services, which has acted as supplier to exhibitions that include the Ideal Home Exhibition, the Flora London Marathon Exhibition, Clothes Show Live, the Sailboat Show and the Daily Telegraph Adventure Travel Show.
