In Orbit with the Stars
|
| |
Star Events Group has expanded
the range of stages it can offer with the acquisition of Orbit Stages*.
The new Star Orbit division makes Star Events Group the first and
only staging company with the ability to offer a full range of VerTech,
Orbit and Mobile stages.
With the ink barely dry on the contract to bring the stock, client
list, order book, design rights and goodwill of Orbit Stages within
the Star Events Group, the benefits of this new ‘marriage’ were witnessed
as a major corporate events player, Red Bull, confirmed an order for
an Orbit roof for a high profile touring contract for the next 3 years.
“The enthusiasm throughout the industry for the arrival of Star
Orbit has been fantastic and we are delighted that an existing Star
Events Group client has already taken advantage of our widened product
range,” said Roger Barrett, Star Events Group’s development director.
“The Orbit style staging has proved itself as a very popular design
with event organisers. However it is only since Orbit Stages came
into existence and had the original system entirely re-designed, that
it has become well engineered enough for us to want it. Consequently
it is a stage system we are delighted to be able to offer within the
Star Events Group portfolio.”
The acquisition came about after Star Events Group identified the
Orbit staging system, with its characteristic curved roof, as a product
that would compliment their already impressive product portfolio and
one that would fit perfectly into it. The visual impact of the Orbit
stage means it particularly suits classical concert events and the
distinctive shape helped make it the first choice for prestigious
concerts including the Queens Golden Jubilee celebrations in London,
the Eden Festival at the Eden Project in Cornwall and BBC Wales Children
In Need with Peter Gabriel.
The new addition to the group has not only brought in state of the
art equipment, but has also meant gaining a new Director, Paul Ladd.
Paul was the original founder of Orbit Stages and has joined the Star
Events Group team at their premises in Bedford, where the Orbit product
range is now based. He commented: ‘This change is going to allow the
Orbit stages to grow and have access to a far wider client base. I
am extremely excited about this development. Working within a group
that I already know and which has a strong internal support network
also really appeals, especially with it’s excellent reputation for
standards and health and safety.”
Roger commented:
We have been striving to build up the best range of stage structures
and rigging equipment in the UK. This acquisition goes a long way
to fulfilling that ambition, although we still have our eyes on some
more exciting developments.”
