Kimbolton Fireworks - Operator Fired Displays

Kimbolton Fireworks was founded by the Reverand Ronald Lancaster MBE in 1964. The company started from modest workshops to continue research and development for the firework industry. In 1990 the company moved to a purpose built factory, the only facility of its kind in the country. Kimbolton Fireworks are now the last manufacturers of large display fireworks in Britain ensuring their place as the market leaders.
The greatest advantage of being a manufacturer is the flexibility when designing displays. Kimbolton fireworks were commissioned to fire the VJ Day celebrations on the Themes, 18 tones of fireworks fired from 5 barges, probably still the largest display ever seen in the UK. Kimbolton Fireworks reputation is not limited to the shores of Britain. In 1997 Kimbolton Fireworks fired the display to celebrate the hand over of Hong Kong to the Chinese Government.
We offer a complete range of operator fired displays ranging from private functions and product launches, to national and international events. As Britain's last remaining manufacturer of Display Fireworks, we pride ourselves on being able to offer the best value for money and have the ability to tailor any display to your own specific requirements.
Our minimum budget is around £1800 (ex VAT) all inclusive of labor, materials, transport and £2 million insurance. We believe this budget provides an adequate 12-15 minute display for medium sized audiences. At the other end of the scale we have fired many displays where the budget is between £2000 and £5000 per minute or even more as at our recent Hong Kong "Handover" display for example.

The Display Site
We do need sufficient area for setting up our display and for fall-out. Ideally we need about 100m x 200m clear area, but often we are able to modify our displays to cater for more restricted sites. Naturally we would want to visit the proposed site with you at an early stage in the planning of your event to determine the best display site and to decide what fireworks would be most suitable for your display. We have a booklet on organizing a safe firework display, which we will forward on request.
Fireworks and Music
To combine fireworks and music successfully is both time consuming and expensive. Kimbolton Fireworks fire many displays to both live and taped music and would be pleased to assist you in planning such events. We work closely with a number of Orchestras, and have access to some of the finest sound studios in the UK.
Kimbolton Fireworks produce much of the material we use in our own displays, particularly Roman candles, mines, shells and fountains. In addition we use quality material from a limited number of suppliers in Europe and the Far East. We use imported materials to supplement and extend our own range - we always aim to have as much variety as possible in our displays.
Our display successes include:
Organisers of the "World Firework Championships" in Blackpool, 1998
Hong Kong handover, 1997
VJ Day celebrations on the Thames, 1995
Competitions:
Montreal (Silver Jupiter)
Hanover (2nd prize)
Knokke (1st prize)
Please do not hesitate to contact us for further information in the planning of a spectacular, safe and enjoyable display.
